Note that this is an old reply. YourDyno now supports inertia compensation for brake dynos. Hi, The system supports both brake and inertia dynos, but not at the same time, you need to select one of them in the software.

For a brake dyno there is always an inertia component that will be unaccounted for. This component is small unless you have fast ramp rates and/or have very heavy rollers compared with the horsepower. I don't know the roller weight of the Bosch dyno, but typically they try to make them light to minimize this error. I can upload an excel file later today to that you can play with to calculate the error. Typically it is small. How is the brake controlled?
